Our Paris based Financial & Operational Restructuring practice (FOR) is lead by two highly experienced & established Managing Directors and the team have earned an exceptional reputation for excellent work. They are highly active in France & across Europe and due to continued growth we are recruiting a talented individual to join this expanding team at Senior Associate level. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to build a career in advisory with the leading global name in Restructuring.
We welcome applications from individuals currently pursuing careers in Big 4 firms or boutique advisory / strategy houses who are looking to develop their career in Restructuring at a fast pace by working for an independent specialist firm with a global reputation.
As part of a select and highly skilled team you will have the opportunity to;
- Advise companies, investors, lenders or any other stakeholders facing distressed situations; assess Group-level financial & operational performance in addition to the financial viability of subsidiary companies
- Conduct Independent Business Reviews, Initial diagnostic assessment of liquidity, key business issues and outlook, appraisal of options & contingency planning and cash flow assessments
- Evaluate business plans and financial projections, including assessments of risks and opportunities - contribute to performance monitoring following business plan implementation
- Work closely with company management to deliver high profile operational restructuring projects at company site including supporting interim management positions
- Develop trusted relationships with key stakeholders in the French and European Restructuring community through the delivery of value-added client engagements
- Gain ‘on the job’ learning & development in addition to established formal training programmes
The person:
- A strong financial skill set including an understanding of P&L and asset efficiency (working capital) drivers and performance improvement processes, business plan review and development, cash position assessment, financial projections development, designing and implementing cash conservation guidelines and controls
- Experience conducting quantitative and qualitative analyses combined with exposure to constructing integrated financial models and analysing financial underperformance
- Ability to build relationships within a team and with clients
- A high grade Bachelor’s degree from a top “Grande Ecole” university
- Native French & fluent English is essential. Additional European languages are advantageous
The ideal applicant could possess:
- A financial modelling skill set including the ability to build 13 week cash flow models, integrated financial models, business plan modelling, assess long-term company viability, as well as understanding and applying valuation methods in a restructuring context
- Experience in Restructuring / Turnaround at a ‘Big 4’ firm, a leading Advisory or strategy firm or as an employee of a company that has been through a restructuring
- Demonstrable experience of involvement in complex projects and stakeholder management skills
- Fluency in an additional European language is highly desirable
